Four extremely brief, impromtu vocal improvisations (two male & two female, recorded with an inexpensive microphone and a portable cassette recorder in an abandoned church in North Wales) were deconstructed and manipulated via some basic methodologies of early musique concrète and then re-modelled into a determined compositional structure based upon a no-input sound score informed by certain characteristics of 15th Century European painting (specifically within the triptychal works of Hieronymous Bosch).

The entire, month-long working period was suffused with an overwhelming atmosphere of aesthetically impotent rage, mostly in regards to what I consider to be the absolute failure of 21st century arts practice (music and film in particular), to effectively resist the gross stupidity and insensitivity of the current UK government (perhaps any government come to that) in any meaningful way whatsoever.

This piece is dedicated to the memory of my late father Anthony Leslie Hooker, 1938 - 2019.
